As a development partner and system supplier, KWD offers its customers comprehensive services and production support, from the concept phase to process planning and series production. With the use of high-strength and super-high-strength steels, aluminum, and stainless steel and the application of the most modern manufacturing processes, including those developed in-house, KWD meets the requirements of automobile manufacturers with respect to lightweight construction and cost-optimized series production. New material combinations and processes are constantly being applied to the production-ready development and design of body and seat structures, interior doors, dashboard supports, roof structures, and more.

We invest a great amount in research and development for this purpose. Among other things, we seek to find alternative joining methods in multi-material design. Such processes are becoming increasingly important in vehicle construction, for example in the series production of sophisticated connection parts and complex body assemblies in body shell manufacture.

KWD’s product development service spectrum ranges from the pre-development of product concepts to CAD design and accompanying FEM simulations to forming and tolerance simulation of the developed component and component groups in the assembly space of the vehicle environment.

To achieve these ends, KWD relies on close cooperation with customers in order to agree on concepts, to ensure that framework conditions are maintained, and to take the customer's wishes into account.
